March 16, 2003:
Voters:Last week's winner was Ben Copans, for his quote of: "I'm a Republican. I don't kill anyone, I just eat babies." Congratulations to Copans.
Since there was no school this week, any field of nominees would be pretty thin, so I've decided to present you with a "Best Of Paul" Week (thanks to Jeff for supplying the quotes). For those of you in the audience who are unenlightened heathens, Paul is a subway stop announcer on Boston's Green Line, and was featured in some Boston magazine as one of our 50 favorite Bostonians.
So, here are the quotes (no voting this week; it's just for your enjoyment):
"If you must be forced to leave us here at Park Street, please remember to take with you all your packages, bags, and blah blah blah blah bla."
"For those of you leaving us here at North Station, let me tell you: you have rocked my world. I love you, not just as a fellow voyager on spaceship earth but as a beautiful human being. Go forth and live!"
"Boylston, change for the silver line and the Thé-á-ter district."
"Folks, Please clear the doors or I shall be forced to speak to you in a demeaning manner."
"At Park Street, both doors will be opening due to the end of Reconstruction. Yehaa!"
"Aaaaahlington."
"To any of you who might be trying to make a tight connection at North Station, Godspeed!"
"The MBTA, We give you choices: left side, right side..."
"Folks, when the train is pack full, as it is now, please remember that the hand in your back pocket may not be your own."
"If today is the first day of the rest of your life, that would make today your birthday. Happy birthday."
