July 26, 2003:
QOTW Members:I received a veritable slew (or, if you prefer, a "plethora") of quotes yesterday, but they will be not be featured in today's email. I will instead save them for next week.
A reminder: there is no voting during the summer.
And now, This Week's Quotes:
"Las cosas mas divertidas son las mas immorales." -Jeff (Translation: "The things that are the most fun are the most immoral.")
"'Evil Wears Pinstripes' would be a great name for a wonderful campy little horror film." -Kathryn
"They sang like everything was chubby" -Magnetic poetry in the bathroom at Becca's workplace
"Family place? This is where I go to get away from my family." -Some kid, roughly eight years old, complete with a lunch box, in response to the boat-racing teacher calling Community Boating a "family place"
"My life is kind of like a foreign film. People think it's really classy, just 'cause they don't understand it." -Jenn, on her life needing subtitles
"What? Winchester is a lot less Winchester than I had thought..." -Roz, after finding out that Winchester has only one Starbucks
"It's a bubble of treachery." -Jenn, on Winchester
"To televise my questions from the interview, I invented a questionnaire. This so-called questionnaire consisted of three major questions." -Shweta Bhatt, in an article titled "S.A.R.S.; a child's nightmare?", written for her camp newspaper
"You need to stop coming to this show and get a life." -Hershey Feller, star of "Gershwin Alone", to Ben Miller, after the latter requested that Hershey play the obscure Gershwin song "The Back Bay Polka"
And since that's only nine quotes, here's a bonus one, taken from last summer:
"I think we should all just let each other be strange and inhumane in peace." -Sam
Once again, I encourage anyone who has not already done so to email me and request to become a part of the Honorable Mentions Club. The priveliges and prestige involved are immeasurable. Unless you have some sort of privelige-and-prestige measuring device.
-Ben "horribly different" Orlin
